Portrait

Meet Chris, my biggest fan. I promise he is more handsome than this picture entails. Portrait is not my favorite, however I have taken senior pictures and love dragging friends around the city to find new spots to capture their outer beauty. I like this one because of the location and time it was taken. My grandparents home in a small town in Iowa, the night before the Fourth of July. The color is my favorite aspect of the picture, and it reminds me of road trips to the small town and how I love the peacefulness. Well, until Chris and I visited with fireworks.

The Beginning

One will quickly discover the obsessive love I have for my two dogs. They are the two little objects I photograph and adore the most. This chunk of a loveball is my pug, Rylee.
I assure you this entire post will not be of the two nuggets running around my house. This is more to debut some photographs, as well as myself. The people and little things I surround myself in make me, me. My squirrelly, energenic dog can be seen in my most blissfully, ignorant moments. My dad is strict, stern, with a lot of anger built up. As much as I would hate to admit, I see him in me as well. My strong and beautiful mother is where I like to think I get my strength and wisdom from. She's learned so much in her life experience, and I wish to learn as much as her through mine; but maybe without the heart breaks she was dealt.
I have my own attributes to my family, however. I will admit to being the insecure one, however I will slap on a happy face if it makes my parents proud of me. I contribute the weirdness in my household; constantly attempting to drag my parents into my constant song and dance. But wouldn't life be better, with constant song and dance? My difference in politics and beliefs is oddly what strains the "togetherness" in the Hight household, constantly starting nightly disputes over something so insignificant. My left sided views are sometimes a little overwhelming to my small town- conservative father's. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm okay with a little debate as long as I'm not the one starting it.
It would probably be more appropriate to post a picture of the Hights. However, by debuting my photography with a darling picture of my portly pug, I was also hoping to debut the naive, overexcited Ashley that will now be posting to this blog.
